Richard grew up in the South. He was not raised in a Christian home; however, he received Christ as his personal Saviour in January of 1986 while attending a Bible study in the military. After serving four years in the Navy, Richard went to Trinity Baptist College in Florida where he met his wife, Sheila. They were married in December of 1996 and were blessed with four adult children- Stephen, Jonathan, Lydia and Tabitha. Most recently they welcomed a grandchild into their family.
Richard and Sheila joined New Testament Baptist Church in December of 2020. In October of 2021 Richard helped start the Master Clubs program on Wednesday nights and is now the leader of this ministry. He and his wife both teach 1st-5th graders in the Children’s Church once a month. Richard accepted a part-time staff position as Children’s Ministry Director in November of 2022 and brought with him twenty years of experience with the children’s & bus ministry.
